Welcome to an incredible class filled with handgun safety, responsibility, and fun!
Whether you are a first-time gun owner or seasoned firearms enthusiast, you are in a powerful position of responsibility. As such, we should always be ready to review basic/common sense firearm information and discuss how we can continue to enjoy our firearm responsibly.
This class prepares new firearm owners for the responsibilities that come with firearm ownership. It is every firearm owners’ responsibility to safely store, safely handle, and safely train.
Module 1: Firearm Basics
WHAT TO EXPECT
In this segment we will examine the various types of handguns. From Semi-Automatics to Revolvers, single action, and double action firearms, to hammer driven and striker driven, we will explore them all.
At the end of this module, you will understand and have learned firearm terminology, basic firearm fundamentals, and will have graduated to Basic Handguns Module 2
Module 2: Firearm Mechanics
WHAT TO EXPECT
The scariest part of guns is the fear of the unknown. Let’s take the scary out of firearms. By the end of this module, you will be comfortable while handling firearms.
Let’s understand the Bang” In this segment we will follow the path from pulling the trigger to the bullet leaving the barrel. We will study the firing cycle of a firearm along with looking at the identifying the wide variety of ammo and calibers. Cleaning and maintaining your firearm is just as important as safety. We will cover how to disassemble and clean your firearm.

Module 3: Let’s Go bang
WHAT TO EXPECT
After some short classroom time, we hit the range. During this Module we will quickly go over highlights from Module 1 & 2 and study the five principal elements of Marksmanship, firearm grip and trigger squeeze, Stance, Breathing Control, and Aiming. We will go over range safety then head to the range to use real range pistols to practice these fundamentals then apply them on the range.
During our time on the range, we will focus on our marksmanship, range etiquette, and above all safety. We will end the segment on the range discussing both proper cleaning and proper maintenance of our firearms.
Whats next? Module 4 (Basic Holster Training), Applying for your CCW or one of our advanced pistol classes. Also Basic Shotgun for home defense training.
Range Time
Students will also perform live fire exercises learning the basics of handling and shooting your firearm accurately. Although using your own firearm is highly recommended, we are happy to provide you with one to complete the training! Please let us know if you need to use a firearm for this class. If you have your own firearm, please bring 100 cartridges to complete the class.
Module 4: Basic Holster Training
WHAT TO EXPECT
Increase your skills, test your gear and learn the most important information when it comes to drawing a gun from a holster. This three-hour course is mandatory for anyone wishing to draw from a holster while using the range facility (Special Events Only). The course will focus on the safe and efficient way to holster up upon entering the range, drawing from the holster, presentation to target, and re-holstering procedures.
Range Time
Students will also perform live fire exercises learning the basics of handling and shooting your firearm accurately. Although using your own firearm is highly recommended, we are happy to provide you with one to complete the training! Please let us know if you need to use a firearm for this class. If you have your own firearm, please bring 100 cartridges to complete the class.
Cancellation Policy
Training fees include a 50% non-refundable deposit. Cancellations before the start of the class will be given a 50% refund of training fees or a one-time reschedule of training within one year. Students who are absent from any portion of a class without notice will not be eligible for a refund. Please get in touch with your instructor as early as possible to cancel your class.
